kangaroo asked: One I keep hearing is that people think black belts have to get their hands registered as lethal weapons!
Have you come across any other misconceptions concerning the martial arts?

Oh my asked: Does anyone know what credentials or courses you have to take to be a mixed martial arts referee.

Bruce Tzu asked: My son has done alot of martial arts already. He is only 8 but started at 5 and really took to it. His main style has been Jujitsu. He really has good technique despite only being 8. But he has also done Judo and Kickboxing (easy class just for fun). I’m also thinking of adding in some high school style wrestling. He doesn’t do these activities constantly but sort of rotates them around through the year along with flag football and baseball. When baseball is up he does martial arts maybe 2 times a week same thing for flag football. When no other sport then maybe martial arts 5 times a week. So is it good for kids to train in many different martial arts at the same time? While I don’t want him overloaded I like how he is being well rounded and he seems to enjoy it.

jastca asked: I’d really like to try out some martial arts and so would my daughter, but we’re pushed for time as I work full time. It would be great if we could go to the same martial arts school and while she did a class in one room, I did a class in the other. Doe any such thing exist? We live in Richmond, but anywhere in South West or central London would be grand.

persian_teardrop asked: I was watching a martial arts film the other day and seeing this guy do some really good moves like back flips and really high flying kicks. I do some martial arts workouts at home but i’m wanting to be really good at it like that soon. How long will it take and is it ok to train at home or do i need to go to classes as well? Because no one will go with me at the moment and i’m embarrassed to go on my own being a girl.

anarchymaster8 asked: I’ve noticed when people learn that I’m a trained fighter they tend to show me more respect. Sometimes I think they even fear me, I can see it in their eyes when I tell them about my martial arts experience.
I’ve heard stories about tough guys trying to pick fights with martial artists. That hasn’t happened to me yet, but I feel like I’m prepared to handle anyone who steps up to me.

Arashi asked: So I know martial arts is connected to lion dancing, but I’m not sure the specific way. If you are a lion dancer, then you should have studied martial arts for a while.
How–specifically–are they related?
